Diana Rotaru

Diana Rotaru is currently a PhD student in the Neuroimaging Department at Centre for Neuroimaging Sciences, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London (KCL).Diana’s research is concentrated on Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy method development (MR scanner programming and optimization of preprocessing and analysis pipelines) for precise and direct measurement of low concentration neuro-metabolites like GABA and GSH on clinical (3T) and preclinical (9.4T) moderate-to-high-field MRI scanners, a project in collaboration with researchers from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the University of Cambridge. Her academic training includes an MSc. in Neuroimaging at KCL and also a BSc. at the Faculty of Medical Engineering, University Politehnica of Bucharest. To support her studies, she won two awards: the IELTS Award offered by British Council Romania (for MSc.) and the IoPPN Prize Studentship (for PhD) offered by KCL.

Diana is working also with the Neuroscience Research Group (“Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest) led by prof. Leon Zagrean, a collaboration project investigating EEG signals in the context of brain stimulation and the administration of various types of anesthetics.
